During Auto Assembly Europe 2011 in Uppsala, Sweden, I sat down with Simon Furman to talk about his role in Transformers mythos. The following is the result of that interview as well as a presentation Simon made that weekend. While he obviously couldn’t say much concrete about issue 81 and onwards, he gave lots of intriguing examples of things that might be revisited.
For those who don’t know who you are, tell us a little about yourself and how you’re related to the Transformers brand
My name is Simon Furman and I’m a writer for comic books, TV animation, and just recently movies. My relationship with Transformers goes all the way back to ’85, when I was hired to write an adventure for the UK version of the comic. And since then I’ve been involved with pretty much all the publishers; Marvel in the US and the UK, Dreamwave, IDW, Panini and probably a few others I’ve forgotten about. I’ve written an episode of the Beast Wars TV show, Transformers: The Ultimate Guide, so basically lots of stuff for the past 25-26 years. ... Läs hela texten
