Universal Game Crossover Chart 1.15: Sega/Koei/Taito chaos

The crossovers just keep on coming, with some high profile ones like Bayonetta being included along with Madworld in Anarchy Reigns. This, along with a couple of finds in the Phantasy Star games, particularly the PSP versions, made me expand Sega’s space. Now, for Phantasy Star I’m having problems sorting out actual crossovers, since it includes costumes from games like Valkyria Chronicles and Sakura Wars which aren’t listed. However, Toro and Kuro from Mainichi Issho and Colonel Sanders (!) actually appearing in person do count.

Another huge addition was adding Taito into the Square-Enix family. They haven’t made a cross-company crossover that I know of (and I dread the day when I need to put Eidos in there), but Bubble Bobble turned out to be a huge mess once you start checking out all the homages and appearances. Having not played all those games, at least I believe the listed ones have actual characters or creatures appearing. This also adds some notable games like super classics Arkanoid and Space Invaders, along with weirdest game ever, PuLiRuLa. But actually, what made me look into Taito was the recent remake of Elevator Action which decided to have Time Gal, the Kiki Kaikai girl and the Arkanoid protagonist (however that works).

Fighting crossovers also keep on coming and Akira in Dead or Alive 5 (possibly along with Sarah and Pai) added a complicated connection. Street Fighter x Tekken turned out to also have Pac-Man. HOWEVER, I’m not counting Bad Boxart Mega Man yet since he hasn’t appeared in a Mega Man game and currently he’s a SFxT original. You want him here, Capcom, you better finish that Mega Man Universe.

Also, Koei just added characters from pretty much all of their and Tecmo’s games into Warriors Orochi 3, so that’s a rather big addition to the Koei stable.

That’s it for now, except for a few minor additions and restructuring.

Something worth noting is that real life people like Michael Jackson and Shaquille O’Neal appearing in multiple games doesn’t make that a crossover, and neither do any sports athletes. A person is not a franchise, even though they might try to act like it.
